'Look at what we fucking well have.'
by Hinemoana Baker (for Ihumātao)
Hinemoana Baker reads her poem If I had to sing, commissioned on the 2015 reopening of Christchurch Art Gallery Te Puna o Waiwhetū. Filmed and edited by Alex Boyd.
Produced by www.treetopmedia.co.nz for the Goethe-Institut. The Transit of Venus on the 6th June 2012 was the inspiration for an international, multilayered poetry project and played an important role in the joint history of New Zealand and Germany. It was a once in a lifetime event: the next Transit of Venus will be not seen again until 2117. In February 2016, an anthology of poetry from these six poets is to be launched. The book is called 'Transit of Venus / Venustransit', available through Victoria University Press
Me reading 'Our Children Have Run Away to Fiji', from my book 'kōiwi kōiwi | bone bone'. This was filmed (thanks Marian!) at the launch of the book, Sunday 18 July 2010, at 'Poetry at the Ballroom Cafe', Newtown, Wellington.

Hinemoana Baker and Christine White performing Christine's song 'Beautiful Thing' on Television New Zealand's 'Good Morning' Show, June 2008. The presenter says it's Hinemoana's song but actually Christine wrote it, then Hinemoana added the verses in Māori. The Māori text honours Taranaki and Parihaka, the home of visionary Māori prophets of peace Te Whiti o Rongomai and Tohu Kakahi.
